SLT Tier lll Data Center Visit - The visit to SLT, Data Center, Homagama Objectives Get know about the Data Center and mechanisms in the Data Center Introduction On 16th January 2018 Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) opened a Tier 3 National Data Center (DC) in Pitipana - Homagama. It is named as the “National Data Centre” and is one of the Tier III (or higher) Data Centers that are found in Sri Lanka and only two such Data Centers exists in Sri Lanka, and the other one belongs to the Dialog Axiata. Data center is utilized with 500 racks. Infrastructure and the operations are done in the Data Center with SCADA system which is installed in the datacenter for handling and monitoring purposes. It is focusing on Software Defined Networks(SDN) and Network Function Virtualization(NFV) than towards a traditional infrastructure.
